Copwatch in theory is a fine idea. However I have witnessed some of those involved with it also be antagonistic towards police for the very reason to film an incident.

CopWatch in action works! The idea works and then it works (see the example i described in my previous post)

true, some people who have an unhealthy attitude towards police are involved with those organizations, but not everyone involved is that way and you can't say it only works in theory. because it works.

and first amendment motherfucker. unless someone who is filming the police is impeding with their job duties or doing something illegal, then they can pretty much say whatever the fuck they want.

We collectively pay to have a police force that will enforce our laws, and i have no problem with that. But we pay them to enforce our laws within our set of restrictions and specifications. Most people who are our civil servants, have no problem working within those restrictions and specifications. Some don't. And though we have internal structures to deal with those that do not want to work within those boundaries, sometimes those structures fail because we are not perfect and we all dont perfectly abide by our own rules. Therefore copwatch is a necessity.

i say, if we as a public, are being constantly filmed by "big brother" while we go about our daily lives, then it's ok for us to turn the camera around and film back.

Motherfucker? I must remember to not have opposing views on here. So an instigating squatter punk is AOK, a cop who loses his cool after being tormented by said squatter punk is not. I was just pointing out that there is an obvious agenda, I'm sorry I brought that to light, I will remember not to do that in Candyland.

boooo! calm down and change your diaper friend!

I like to say fuck a lot motherfucker, have you never been on the shizz before?

Sorry if you cant handle an intelligent conversation without crying. I agreed with you that there are people that abuse copwatch, but i counterpointed that the organization as a whole is a necessity.

now clean yourself up and let me kiss away those tears

Don't go emo on me Tyler.

I think Jacki is just saying that it does work, even though (as you have witnessed) there are bad apples. But I think that is the case with anything. Should we completely dissolve the Police Force because there are alot of Asshole cops on the street? No, of course not. Same goes with Copwatch.

No, I love intelligent debate, which usually involves both sides, something I doubt will happen here regarding this issue. To be honest I believe that police regulations should involve self video taping that cannot be tampered with. I however dont think that every Tom Dick and Harry should be cramming their Iphone in the officers face in the line of duty, impeding the work process. Imagine every time you went to type out a long winded diatribe about "loving cock" or whatever someone was blocking your keyboard with a camera claiming it was their right...yes they would eventually film you typing, it would take you longer to do your job, and it would eventually piss you off. Thats what these guys are up against ALL THE TIME and its not always rogue officers being assholes...but sometimes those that protect us being put in harms way.

My guyliner is a little smudged.

and that's fine! that's your opinion. mine differs from yours. OK?
no need to get butt hurt about it. we're all friends here.

I'm doing the exact same thing you are doing, which is expressing my opinion
Spoiler

is this even worth getting upset about to you? I'm ok with having a police force, i'm ok with citizens filming our police force in action if those citizens are not impeding those officer's jobs. that's what i stated. i explained an example of copwatch working to benefit a community, you have explained an example of it not working to benefit a community. So now we're standing here with our dicks in our hands except i dont have a dick, so im just staring at yours....

i dont know where i am going with this.

PM me if you want to film me typing "I love cock"

I only like one cop.

Jim Gordan.

this is the worst fdake batman ever. he didnt even get the last name right. i love their being a batman on here...but i have a sinking feeling they are unaware of harvey bullock and renee montoya

see also:serious debate. the police issue is a very deep and complex one that i am not gonna even try to sum up here. which is fine since my opinion means little in the long run. HOWEVER, they should be filmed and accusing people of doing so as 'wiretappers' is asinine

As a full time firefighter and paramedic I have to say it would definitely suck to have every call video taped.. so much can be taken out of context. But, aside from that.. I think it's complete shit that someone would be arrested for it. I'm gonna have to look that up and see how they are justifying that. Doesn't seem like that's really valid.

Firefighters and paramedics are great. They are there to help. Cops are there to make you afraid.

I agree with the first two sentences. I only sort of agree with the third. In my working with cops, their job seems to normally be some sort of "scene control" such as keeping streets blocked, or bystanders clear so we at the fire department can safely do our job. Just like any profession out there however, there are good apples and bad apples. I have the ability to give medications that can potentially save someones life. Should I be on camera at all times while working? I can see the argument for why, but honestly, it seems like as soon as you use the "wrong tone", say the wrong thing, hell or even sneeze funny you'll end up on Nancy Grace and sued out of your job.
Normally I say if you have a problem bring a solution, but I really don't have a solution on this one. I don't think most people would want to be video taped all day at work. Feels very George Orwell 1984.

On the flip side of that.. I definitely think there should be a camera going anytime they run a field sobriety test on someone. Those lying bastard pigs gave my buddy a DWI who was well within the legal limit and lied in their written report on how he was acting. I was there . They ended up fucking him by giving him "impaired to the slightest degree" which means he was under the limit but we still want to fuck you.
Almost cost him his career because of it.

Yea, Fuck Cops.

Not sure why the jealousy occurred, maybe just the envisioning of my man meat being the pleasure pole for some other lucky lady (yea, I said it, you can quote me on that lol)

I would never ever ever recommned even agreeing to a field sobriety test. My understanding is that there is no legal requirement to do so (not to be confused with not submitting yourself for breathalyzer/blood test which are "required" in that you'll get a suspended license if you don't comply, and even if you don't, they'll just get a warrant)

You will fail the field sobriety test.

The end.

Also, you're completely right about "to the slightest degree". .08% doesn't mean shit here. Have a .02% and "fail" the field sobriety test, and it's the same penatly as if you're .08%+

yeah, i talked to a cop whose wife i was friends with (so not just some random dude) and he said the same shit. if they ask you to take the field test, theyve already decided whether they think you are guilty or not.
