How did it get to be so easy to be so fucked up.

I don't revel in the successes. To my own detriment, I don't even mind the gradual, incremental backsteps. It's only the panic that sets in when I all of a sudden find myself awake and trapped, with a tidal wave of lost time fast approaching to wash away and reveal all of my unfulfilled dreams and unmet potential, leaving me here, beached once more, to lie in a pool of my own mediocrity.

But tomorrow will be better.

And the cycle will assuredly begin anew, yet again.

I slipped this in. There is a giant calendar in the hallway. It's to mark everyone's vacation, they notate with the person's name, and then "Off" as in they aren't working that day.

Whenever I have a bad day, I give my co-worker "fuck" a day off. I mark the calendar accordingly.

At work, I get to do some really hard stuff, and for the past several months, I get to do it in 2/3 the amount of time and for 2/3 the amount of money. Me and a team of 3 other people are being slavedriven on this project that's apparently really important and takes advantage of our specialized knowledge and skills, and we are being paid the same as the people who refuse to do anything but work the Children's desk because they are scared and incompetent.

It was a lot easier to be cheerful about this when it was easy to pay my bills. I used to be able to afford to go out for pizza and stuff.

I just make my own pizza. Pizza is one of those insanely overpriced foods. My pizza is just as good. It took years to develop it, trial ad error. Trust me- you can whip out a mean ass pizza pie at home for about 25% of what it costs to get one delivered. How many pizza places offer rosemary crust?

The Scene: Sycamore and Main Light Rail Stop

Friend and I rode our bikes there from my house to catch the light rail down to Fall Frenzy. Locked bikes there. Security guy says there is video surveillance.
We both lock our bikes to one another and to the bike rack. 2 locks.

Go to Fall Frenzy. Get stupid drunk. $7 dollar beers is not cheap by the way. Spent too much.

Rode light rail back to Light Rail Stop.

Walk to bike rack.

My bike is there, friends bike is stolen. Both locks missing.

Friend to me: "how big of a piece of shit is your bike that they leave yours and steal mine?"

Me to Friend "Hey, I'm not having a great night either, my lock got stolen".

Fuck.
