Want to say, that although I'm glad the WBC get sent a-packin' the law they created is the same kind of scam used to create "protest zones" when groups like the G8 are here.
You know, the "protest zones" that are miles away from the actual meeting and easily ignored by people making the rules that affect us.
"Now Timmy, you and your little radical friends go to the sand bo--I mean protest zone, and express your displeasure in a safe, easily ignorable way."
And yea, way to go Heavy Ink reject.

i saw it coming but it's kinda lameballs. he was deemed competent enough to buy a gun and kill 6 people, why can't he stand trial for that competency?

the guy obviously has mental issues, i don't think throwing him in a
regular prison is going to do anyone any good...

i don't know that being locked up in a mental hospital is a whole lot different than being locked up in a prison. maybe a sane person would think it's different. as long as he's not out on the streets i'm fine.
more than anything, i think this is an indictment on our ability to provide help to the mentally ill before it's too late and they do something horrible. or our ability to keep guns out of the hands of people that can't handle the responsibility. either way, i feel comfortable blaming jan brewer for this.

in a mental facility of some sort he might be able to
get help and eventually stand trial. no one knows yet
if he is beyond that point...
in prison he has the huge potential of harming other prisoners
or guards...and most probably his mental state will worsen, not
get better...
if we want to change the system to have it so the mentally incompetent
are unable to purchase guns, then it makes sense to have this man deemed
mentally incompetent...not try him as a regular dude because our gun-buying
system is broken. extremely broken.

it is extremely sad with the release of all those college emails that
nothing clear could have been done to prevent this. hopefully that
will change in the next five years...maybe there'll be a way to report
individuals like this for evaluation. tough issue though...i can see
both sides getting very upset over it. in any case the gun laws should
change...absolutely ridiculous that he was able to purchase one.
he was turned away from a walmart when he tried to purchase ammo so
what does that tell you...
