This album is epic. I recently rented a car and drove to California with my girlfriend for a few days and listened to this cd nonstop. Now every time I hear it I think of driving around in CA.

Complete with drunken reviews.
The Paper Chase ~ Now You are One of Us
Powerful, bitter, and anthemic, as The Paper Chase always are. They always seem to release albums when i'm at a low in my life, so they always present a really unsettling context to me. At the same time, however, this album presents some of their most uplifting stuff. Great production and arrangement, too.
Zappa ~ Apostrophe / Overnite Sensation
As corny or irreverant as he was, the guy was fucking good for music as a whole.
Butthole Surfers ~ Widowermaker! EP
Found it used. Love 'em. Reminds me that I haven't taken part in enough drug worship lately.
Flaming Lips ~ Clouds Taste Metallic
See above.
Sonic Youth ~ Rather Ripped
I am amazed that they can still crank out such good shit. Of course, this could be hazed by residual sentiment from back in the proverbial day, and the fact that I have essentially pledged alliegence to these fuckers. Regardless, they've done me well as a band through the years.
Shooting At Unarmed Men ~ Yes! Tinnitus!
Mclusky broke up, and the bassist formed this band. Locomotive agression akin to The Jesus Lizard or Shellac. Spiced with some wonderfully sardonic UK prose. I feel like a pompous, smart-ass Mad Max when I listen to it in my car. Tits.
Destroyer ~ Destroyer's Rubies
Simply captivating. I've only listened once, but this is one of those albums that will most assuredly get better with each listen. Holy christ.
