Haven't given it a really good listen yet. Whose Lady R U? is such a goddamned good song.

i saw them live on friday.

it was not worth the $14 i had to pay at the door.

really??
i was planning on seeing them in may with the Obits (rick froberg's new thing)

i would definitely go for froberg.

yeah, i don't know. i thought the night marchers had 3-4 really good songs, and the rest was super mediocre. they did a three song encore, and each song was horrible. i bought a 3 song seven inch, hoping 3 of the good songs were on it - they were not. oh well.

I'm into the album after giving it a good listen. However, I don't think it's got much staying power.

I just heard that Boris, Torche, and Wolves in the Throne Room are playing the Clubhouse in June.

I am listening to Boris ~ Pink to celebrate this monumental event in metal-as-fuck fuckin' metal.

Wow,..sounds like an awesome show.

I got to see Wolves in the Throne Room in Flagstaff a couple years back at the Kendrick House. Everyone hyped them so hard, touting them as being 'epic metal'. At the time 'epic' seemed to be the choice word in describing metal bands.

They were good. I guess by 'epic' they meant 'long songs'. Some of their recorded stuff I'm not really feeling.

Nonetheless, this will be a rager. 'Epic'.

I saw them in Tempe opening for Jesu late last year, and I liked them quite a bit.

Also, I knew nothing of them going into the show, so I was pretty much blown away when I saw them.

And I wouldn't call them epic. Persistent, maybe, but not epic.

Regardless, they're worth seeing, imo.

I think this album killed my iPod. Probably the terrible lyrics.

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

You are welcome to some of my Tubby...

I have a bunch of Uncle Dan's dub collection from vinyl that I digi'd, if you are interested...

I've been listening to Robert Palmer - Clues

I don't know why, though.

I went to see Man Man the other night...

It was like some Mike Patton/Primus nightmare covering Tom Waits, and getting it all wrong...

and the crowd seemed like a buncha old Sublime fans....lotsa backwards hats...

I saw one of you there...

Because my iPod shit, I have only one thing to listen to right now: ODB's first album on cassette.

If you separate it from the frat, steakhead, worship, it's a pretty incredible album.

Agreed.

Yeah, not sure where the Patton / Primus comparison comes in. I mean, kind of Patton-ish but not really? Tom Waits, maybe... but not exactly.
