The Mae Shi ~ HLLLYH
I mentioned it before, but it deserves another. This record has the strange ability to put me into a great mood no matter what. This is a great thing for a guy who's been a depressed motherfucker for too long. What's more, right in the middle of the album, they make a song using nothing but samples from the rest of the album. It sounds goofy, but it fucking works. Easily one of my favorite albums this year.
I'm listening to this now and I'm into it. That is all.

Nobody should ever be ashamed of being a Skinny Puppy fan. Too Dark Park is one of the best records ever recorded. Not to mention Download was a fucking brilliant side project.
Scorn - Stealth
Scratch Acid - The Greatest Gift
Torche - Meanderthal
The Angelic Process - Passover
Warhorse - As Heaven Turns To Ash
This is true. I suppose I was just feeling a bit defensive on Sunday. By the way, if you should get your grubby mitts on that Pyramids record as well, I'd like to know what you think. Any opinions on the new Torche?

Haven't listened to the Pyramid record yet, but it should be arriving any day now. You listen to the new Scorn yet?

I third the My Bloody Valentine re-mastering.YES PLEASEMy Bloody Valentine needs a similar treatment.
Looks like our wish is granted!
As initially reported on Wired's Blog Network and now confirmed by a Sony BMG UK rep, the only two MBV albums that matter (This Is Your Bloody Valentine was practically an EP anyway) will hit UK shops June 16 in newly remastered formats. While the Isn't Anything remaster spans only one disc, the Loveless one comes as a double-disc: the first disc remastered from both DAT (digital audio tape) and analogue tape, and the second remastered from just analogue tape. No needless bonus cuts or anything, just two gems in all their pristine, self-contained glory.

This album represents the first online digital music purchase I have ever made.
Awesome record. Great songs.
Reminds me of Ween in their early years.

Been playing Meanderthal just about every day for the last week. So so good. I don't understand why people are griping about how different it sounds from the self-titled record. I think it's a perfect transition album. From end to end, it's laid out perfectly. I'm looking forward to seeing them play with Boris and Wolves In The Throne Room next month.

Not yet, but I would like to. I am planning some big financial endeavors that pertain to travel and live music. So it might not be something that happens immediately.

Damn, son! But yeah, I know what you're saying. I get all giddy when the hand claps come in, personally. Have you seen the video for it?

I just got tickets to see My Bloody Valentine at the Roseland Ballroom in New York!
It's too early for me right now, though. I am going back to bed.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
