-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

Planes Mistaken for Stars - Mercy. This record is really awesome. I might even say their best. I know folks on here might disagree but the songwriting I think is a good bit better than everything else, and I completely love everything about this band.
I never took the time to listen to them. So you are saying I should? Is it like GITSOME at all?

But with Mercy, it was like all the elements that made them rad came together.
Some of you might not like the Epitaph Hot Water Music albums, and there is mos def a difference in the Epitaph and non, but Caution I feel is the ultimate coming together of all the HWM elements (no division followed by Forever and Counting are my fav's though, its just Caution is what that band had been trying to produce the whole time)
This is the same PMFS Mercy also.

Well, Planes was super into Black Flag and clearly so is GITSOME (if I remember correctly) so there is definitely some of that there.
I personally love "Knife in the Marathon"
But with Mercy, it was like all the elements that made them rad came together.
I couldn't agree more. Like, when I found out Gared was into Afghan Whigs I went back and listened to Planes and was like "oh yeah" but on Mercy its super obvious.
