#1416266 Help support women in STEM with our Kickstarter!

Posted by solobunrag on 11 March 2020 - 12:04 PM

FINAL CALL TO ACTION!

First off, much appreciation for all of you supporting and allowing me to hawk my wares here. I am doing a final post to alert that our kickstarter ends Thursday night. The response has been overwhelming- we've nearly tripled our sales goal, and also got accepted into Macy's Fashion Incubator (brand accelerator program)!

Please spread the word in your networks to women needing this type of protection- its the last chance to get in early (at a discount)! Women need more options when it comes to safety footwear, and for our company this is an exciting first step (I'm a dad of two, I get a pass on the pun).

Thanks again,
Ryan and Emily
(sorry for the redundant FB post!)

Now that I'm thinking of it, what I would really want if your company is looking to expand its offerings in the future, is sturdy women's work pants with big pockets for all my tools. The men's sizes that are currently the only option are either too small for my woman's can, or too big in the waist.

Understood and we're totally on point with the "you do you" stance, its what led us through a year of surveys and outreach to people and professional organizations, to this product at hand (at foot?).

I might actually have two nice side leads for you RE: pants..... check out some friends of ours at https://dovetailwork...llections/pants AND ALSO https://covergalls.com. They might be solving your exact needs!

#1414434 Help support women in STEM with our Kickstarter!

Posted by solobunrag on 11 February 2020 - 12:32 PM

Hey Shizzies – Ryan from Chromelodeon here (can we finally retire that?). My wife and I just launched another business and we need your help supporting women in STEM with our Kickstarter!

Emily and I have been working behind the scenes on another business for the last two years and the moment has arrived! JUNO JONES is our new shoe company, specifically offering fashionable safety footwear for women. This is a special niche market we care deeply about, and Emily herself was affected by the lack of products supporting women in STEM and nontraditional and hazardous fields, so she strove to make her own. I have done my best to keep up with her endless enthusiasm and dedication, helping with everything short of modeling them myself (obligatory “Kinky Boots” reference). Fun fact: Emily herself is the model in the Kickstarter video close-ups, with me dropping bricks and pipes on her! We’ve got a measure of trust in our relationship to say the least.

JUNO JONES is now LIVE on Kickstarter and we are asking you all for help asap! If this isn’t specific to you or your partner's needs, please share it with family, friends, and co-workers who would benefit from the support. There are a lot of women out there being exposed to risk due to limited or nonexistent safety footwear choices- a typical problem for women in many areas, unfortunately. According to an overwhelming amount of feedback and support, this applies to a wide array of fields… construction, science, engineering, manufacturing, technology, warehousing, professional kitchens, and more.

On a personal note, as a father of a young girl, I take pride in doing whatever I can to help balance gender issues for her future. This will be a small step for progress. Thanks in advance to all for your attention, and for keeping it weird all these years.

lol I just finally remembered to check the old Chromelodeon email account and was extremely confused to have a NEW reply from Sherv before last month's shows, but in response to the email for the original "Final Show" in 2007.

also this slipped through the cracks, but we have under the radar merch sales. Hit Denny up on our Facebook or Instagram accounts. Still a bunch of stuff available.

Folks, can't thank everyone enough for just being you all, after all this time. We had a pretty wild and sometimes awful run back in the day/decade, but having friends/fans/both sustained us. To have three well attended shows that brought the music and the people back was something important for us, and brought some closure to a more raw section of our lives. I know I'm only capturing a portion of people here on the shizz, but again, thank you. Will be bumping this thread to capture media as it rolls in, there was a lot of cameras out and etc.

Here's a philly retrospective that was published Friday night, sort of got swept away during the weekend of shows:

Here's links to the background playlist for Night 1 & 2. A quick and brief attempt to capture some tunes/jokes from back in the day or the days following, more or less. Bust out your old mp3 players.

Hey folks

Just wanted to do a rare pop-in and thank the shizz for their past and current support. Many of the other members have been showing thanks as well. Over the years of touring one unique component for us was there was often a place to crash, or at least a bare minimum couple people in the audience, thanks to the shizzies. We are glad many of you got to be around for some of our best (and worst) moments that live on as hilarious and/or awful stories.

Returning to MAGFEST was surreal and to see the room that full (even more than our “final” show) was humbling, especially for me having dragged my wife and kids along, who really didn’t know much about all this until that moment when they saw it firsthand.

Our upcoming Philly shows (two nights) are likely our very last. PhilaMOCA is a unique venue (former mausoleum)- dark and gritty. We will be playing longer sets. All things considered, it will be a more classic vibe, minus any cases of sparks in the back room. There is an increasing chance the Saturday night show will sell out at the door, so either get tix in advance if you are traveling, or consider Sunday as an option if you are attending only one. We’d love to see everyone the entire weekend, and maybe take over a nearby bar afterwards, etc. There’s a great whiskey & go go place down the block.
