CD release show for PAWL

28 September 2011 - 08:11 PM

Hello SHIZZ world!

I wrote a press release to describe the show!

Hope you can come out! If not- I'll be playing solo in the lounge of the new Crescent Ballroom on Oct 5th from 4:30-7pm before GANG GANG DANCE>

LOCAL BAND, PAWL, RELEASE THEIR SECOND ALBUM WITHIN 12 MONTHS.
In stark contrast to their first album- ‘Archetypes’ is pure “dream pop.”

Phoenix- On Saturday, November 5th, 2011, at 8pm. PAWL will take the stage of the Hard Rock Café sporting a full-band line up ready to bring their unique sound to the music fans of Phoenix. Also sharing the stage are local up-and-comers Hurry the Rising (with loud guitars and female vocals) and opening up the night: local folk-pop troubadour Doug Bale (aka Mergatron).

Everyone who attends the show will be given a card with a special password to download PAWL’s new album for free! All concert attendees will also be able to purchase a CD version of the new album for only $2 dollars!

To celebrate the release of ‘Archetypes’, PAWL is making last year’s album ‘Guest House’ available to download for free for the entire month leading up to the show at http://pawl.bandcamp.com/

Whether it’s the jangly indie-pop sounds of ‘Guest House’; the slick, dance-y, and lyrical dream-pop of ‘Archetypes’, or the intricate chamber rock-pop of their yet to be released ‘Modified Dreams’ album- the audience will not be disappointed.

TICKETS! $8 dollars in advance, $10 at the door. (includes free album download).

PAWL- Guest House, CD Release SHOW

11 October 2010 - 10:33 PM

Hey Shizz community,

This venue location may or may not be your favorite place. In fact, I have never actually set foot in the venue...yet. But I was offered the gig there for CD release, and I thought it would be fun. I hope you can make it. If not, I will be playing more Phoenix shows in the future. But would love to have you at my cd release show.

Details below.

Friday, November 5 · 8:00pm -

Martini Ranch, 7295 East Stetson Drive Scottsdale, Arizona 85251

Join PAWL and his friends as they put on a concert to celebrate the release of Guest House at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale AZ. They will be playing Guest House in it entirety, new and old songs, and some favorite covers! Special guests and a lot of fun. We hope you will come and bring your friends/family to this celebration/ show!

PAWL's new CD Guest House has been described as described as "cinematic pop" -- songs that tell stories and are, at once, catchy, fun, and at times, serious- but never whiny. Arrangement inspired as much by indie pop/rock as Burt Bacharach, Guest House doesn't try to copy the newest trends in independent or popular music; it delivers its own unique combination of classic and modern sounds. PAWL's songwriting draws inspiration from all over the map: from the late Johnny Cash, Elliott Smith, and Nick Drake -- to modern artists such as the Sea and Cake, Beck, Spoon, and Broken Social Scene.
