I love when I hear a girl (or a guy, hey it's the 00's) say they would love to have a Guinness, but they are on a diet. People have no clue that if you're doing like the Hot Snakes tell you to and are thinking about carbs, Guinness is actually the beer you *want* to drink. In fact, if you're on a diet, you should only drink Guinness. Quite literally only Guinness. Get in on the ground floor of the soon to be fad Guiness diet. "Being trim and drunk is the *only* way to go through life!" can be the slogan. Anyway, not only is it lighter than most light beers worth drinking, this misconception about it being such a heavy beer is insanely wide spread. Meaning that the dieter will probably trick themselves into feeling full, and thereby drink less. They will then intake fewer carbs or whatever else some hack has decided is bad for you this season. People get thin and I get filthy rich selling a bunch of crap books on tape.Yes, that's correct, folks. GUINNESS DRAUGHT IS LIGHT BEER.

I don't drink. They hold 14.9 ounces, not 16 ounces. That becomes a significant difference over the course of an 8 pack or more. Just ask Mancopter.

HANG ON A SECOND.
Those Guinness cans are A FUCKING JOKE.
It's time I got on my soapbox and let the truth be known.
FACTS ABOUT THE GUINNESS CANS
1.) They hold 14.9 ounces, not 16 ounces. That becomes a significant difference over the course of an 8 pack or more. Just ask Mancopter. Anyway, it's not a whole pint of beer, which brings me to point number 2:
2.) They are expensive- usually about $1.50 per can here in Arizona. This translates to about 10 cents an ounce. If you compare that to a normal 6 pack, you're looking at a sixer that costs $7.20. What's that you say? "But Mike, Guinness is like a food group! Guinness is thick and heavy and will get you fucked up fast! Certainly paying a premium for such a beverage is in order?"
WRONG!
3.) I will let this article speak for itself:
1. when i pour it into my stolen pint glass from caseys it seems to fit just perfect, to the brim, and normaly i have a little extra that i finish off
2, yea it's pricey
3. in defense of guiness, the cans come from the old county, the bottles come from the states, so there is a difference there
4. yea it's a light beer and if memory serves it has the same amount of alcohol as a budweiser

it has the same amount of alcohol as a budweiser
Guinness Draught: 4.2%
Budweiser: 4.7%
The reason it fills the pint glass is the air trapped inside of it.

So when you order a pint at the bar you're not getting a full 16oz then, either.it has the same amount of alcohol as a budweiser
Guinness Draught: 4.2%
Budweiser: 4.7%
The reason it fills the pint glass is the air trapped inside of it.
