I am not a basketball fan at all, I blame this thread for even knowing anything at all about the suns this year.

so as an outsider looking in, it almost looks like a WWE wrestling match. There are the good guys, the bad guys. All the tension.
Lastnight the suns coach gets thrown out of the game.

I think the spurs let the suns win so they could sell more tickets and pull more money out of fans.

well if thats the case then the Spurs are even more in bed with the league and David Sern thatn i thought. I love how if the Suns players or coaches even give the the referees a doubtful glance they get T'd up...but the Spurs are jawing the whole night with the referees and get nothing. Also, the fact that all of a sudden the refs are looking at the foul lne for lane violations during shaq'a shooting...when all season they didn't even give it a notice. Obviously the Spurs made some phone calls to get this looked at and put in there favor. Also, the Hack a Shaq routine needs to be looked at next year by the league and a rule needs to be made against this. It slows down the game, and gives an unfair advantage to the team with the better free throw shooters. For the Spurs its all about posession during the game regardless if they give up a few free throws.

im sorry, but this is a little ridiculous. it's simple strategy. its shaq's fault he isn't a good free throw shooter, and the spurs (or any other team) shouldnt be penalized for it. teams have been doing this since shaq came into the league, but its more effective now because shaq's offensive game has noticeably declined in the past few years, and he struggles more to complete a basket and make it a possible 3 point play. but making rules against fouling someone because he is a poor free throw shooter makes no sense.

it's hard to make a 3 point play when you are getting fouled without the ball. that is the part of the rule people disagree with. they already changed it so that in the last 2 minutes of a game if you foul someone away from the ball it's one free throw and the ball back. why isn't it like this during the entire game.

i have the some problem with football. less than two minutes left and the quarterback can spike the ball to stop the clock. any other time, that's intentional grounding. rules should apply to the whole game.

but the rules are what they are. shaq needs to focus and sink some shots. it gets the spurs in the penalty early and the suns are shooting free throws for any foul.
