i'm just saying... as you said, it's fun to watch the suns win 60+, but it's a forgone conclusion that they will make the playoffs. the post season is 2 months long as it is... let's just get into it.

baseball season is too long as well. but that's a whole different subject and for different reasons. and besides, playing a long season in baseball isn't really a risk for players. playing a long basketball season is a risk because someone like steve nash can have the suns running and gunning all season long and then get a hip-check into the score table at the end of the season, get injured and be out for the rest of the season, and the suns would be done come playoff time. i would say about 3/4 of the way into the season... it's pretty well known who is going to make the playoffs. there may be a little shuffling at the bottom, but those teams don't really perform in the post season anyway. where as in baseball, a wild card team has made it to the world series how many straight years now?

the likelihood of someone getting injured in the NBA is less than any other sport. plus, any team has less of a chance to do well when they lose an all-star caliber player.
your argument means nothing as it applies to every single sport imaginable. it's not a valid point for saying "the season is too long." they're not opening themselves up to more injury, i mean, how many games is too many in a season then if that's the contention? 4? 5?
football is FAR more dangerous than basketball, even though they only play 16 games, they still have a way higher rate of injury, and the extend of them is way worse than basketball.
plus, just because the playoffs last 2 months doesn't mean people play that long. you may get knocked out in the first or second round which is just 3 or so weeks and could even be less. heh.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
