i've been plowing through LOST recently.

finished the first season last night, then watched the first 4 episodes of season 2.

whoa! I am just finishing Season 3! - Stick through it, it gets dumb at points but it gets better.

I watched 28 Days Later over the weekend, and last night I started Control. I kept trying to draw comparisons between Control and 24 Hour Party People. Shame on me.

ummm....several films that have been labeled "mumblecore" by a few careless critics - "Quiet City," "Dance Party USA," "Funny Ha Ha," "Mutual Appreciation," "The Puffy Chair," "Team Picture," etc... -
the only thing these movies have in common is their participants' willingness to eschew tactics that most actors and directors employ to manipulate an audience into feeling a certain way - these films draw a line in the sand and, as such, are bound to be polarizing - on one side is the audience who wants to escape; on the other, the audience who wants to explore - check 'em out - 'specially if you are at all fond of cinema verite -

recently watched Road to Perdition, Mystic River & Once Were Warriors. and some Northern Exposure episodes.

Speaking of Netflix, I just "watched instantly" a movie called The Signal. If you like slightly odd horror, or B horror, or whatever you should check it out. I enjoyed it.
