All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

"Breaking Bad"

I'm only one and a half episodes in, so this is probably over-simplistic, but it reminds me "Weeds", except it's about the dad from Malcolm in the Middle cooking meth instead of Mary Louise Parker selling pot. It's pretty fucking good so far though. I'd recommend it. In fact, I think I'm recommending it right now.

"Away We Go"

Sucks. Balls.

"No Country For Old Men"

Again. Tenth time I've seen it, and I'm still picking up on stuff I hadn't noticed. Fucking Coen Bros...I can't wait to see their new flick, "A Serious Man" whenever I can make it over to Camelview.

P.S. If anyone's got any French movies to recommend, I'm trying to watch as many good ones as I can before I head over there for New Years.
P.P.S. Speaking of French movies, have you seen "Man Bites Dog"? - fucking awesome.

Oh jeez.

La Femme Nikita
Amelie
Delicatessen
The City of Lost Children
District B13
Leon
Blue / White / Red

I could go on. I won't.

EDIT: Okay, I will.

Brotherhood of the Wolf

P.P.S. Speaking of French movies, have you seen "Man Bites Dog"? - fucking awesome.

Shit yes. Love that movie.

So yesterday was pure hangover recovery.

About 6 episodes of It's Always Sunny
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, because I was feeling high brow.
Feast, which is way fucking better than I thought it would be. Henry Rollins is in it! I heard that the sequels are garbage, so I can't wait to see them next.
Pulse (Kairo), the Japanese original that Hollywood decided to rape into a franchise. More of a contemplation of life, death and loneliness than a horror movie.
The Gore Gore Girls, because the midnight hour is exploitation movie time.

Fixed. Happy Pappy?

Great list - thanks! Half I've seen, half are new to me, so I'll be queueing them up, and some of those, like District 13, I hadn't even heard of...Awesome.

I had forgotten all about Leon too - I'm going to have to re-watch that shit pronto.

A few more:

Them, an insanely suspenseful movie with great use of darkness and sound, and a real corker of an ending. File under horror, but it's really good.
A Very Long Engagement, haven't seen it, seems like a wonderful date movie. I need a date before I see it.
Irreversible, deals with a brutal rape and the ensuing aftermath. NOT a date movie, though it's apparently quite significant. Also haven't seen this one.

Sorry to keep adding, but French cinema is really really impressive, so maybe expect a few more recommendations in the next few days.

Btw, I still need to meet you dude.

Crazy film. It's best to not know what it's about before going into it, so you're basically at the same level as the main character. I was nodding off because I decided to watch the movie late, but as soon as things kicked in, I didn't blink, and watched it to the end.

Feast 2
The first was a great horror movie. This was basically an exploitation movie. Most fans of the first hated 2 & 3. I'm digging them. I'll prolly watch 3 tonight.
