Totally - it's been awhile since I've seen Season One, but I don't really remember thinking it was nearly as great as Season Two has been thus far (still only a third of the way through).also loving season 2 of Parks and Recreation

yeah season one was OK. season 2 is genius. all the characters are really coming into their own, so amazing. probably the only show on network tv that drops the f-bomb ("feminist")
netflix streaming ftw

Rachel Maddow was showing a bit of this documentary the other night and it looked interesting enough to check out. I didn't really know all that much about Barry Goldwater except that he got his ass beat in the 1964 election, so I found this to be an easy way to play a bit of catch up...
I think he was totally on the wrong side of the Civil Rights bill in 1964, but looking at the rest of his career outside of that, I think there's a lot to be admired about him, even while I disagree with his political philosophy. He seemed to be much, much more libertarian (Pro choice, pro gay rights) than anything resembling any of the social conservatives that infest congress and the republican party today.
It was particularly interesting seeing how much love he had for Arizona. He was an avid photographer who often would just fly his little dinky plane all around the state, landing on any dirt road he could find, taking pictures of people, nature, etc.
I would recommend this to any political or Arizona history junkie.

the walking dead was so effing good
fuck. yes.
i was a little worried that they were going to sugar coat it, on account of it being on basic cable as opposed to a channel like HBO. then after the first 3 minutes, i realized "no, no they're not going to sugar coat this at all."

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
