my gf spent 2yrs in england and loves their programming so we've been watching this the past couple nights:



i dig it. it's called "shameless" and i guess there's going to be a u.s. version with william h macy as the drunken dad.

Digging this! I've only just finished the first episode, but I'm all in.

we got through the first two (maybe three) seasons and netflix doesn't have the seasons after it available in the right dvd format. so i might try and track it down through other means but yeah.. it's pretty good. i typically hate most things british but this is pretty brilliant.

edit: i don't know if it was mentioned before or not but there's a u.s. version now on showtime with william h macy as frank. could be good as well.

Seasons 2+ of the UK version are now available on netflix streaming (except for the last half of season five - )

i got into Shameless after it got on Netflix! So good.

I also really like Peep Show, another british show. The guy who plays Mark is amazeballs. british self-deprecation at its best.

I got started watching Key & Peele. It fills the race-based comedy hole that Chapelle's show left in my life, but also manages to be funny about OTHER THINGS too! Miracle!

Watched Game of Thrones front-to-back something like three times. Can't wait for season three; I'm reading all the books in the mean time.

Hey, I heard it's October 19th today! Anyone excited for the return of Community? Even if Chevy Chase is an aging racist who's convinced the show is dragging down his reputation? (Case in point?)

I heard that too, but I don't know how many episodes he had in the can before that happened. They were all ready for that October 19th premiere, so my guess is "a bunch". I can totally se te show killing or otherwise writing off Pierce with a one-liner and NEVER MENTIONING HIM AGAIN. Hahaha. I wish that this show were so meta that this whole thing with Harmon and Chevy Chase was a huge "gotcha", and Pierce gets some amazing sendoff episode. Alas, I fear it's all too very real... I must have watched the multiple timelines episode 20 times. Now I always stock my bathrooms with olives when I throw a party. XD
