The time is drawing near for Kurt Havelock, known as Nil Failstorm, to receive his sentencing on August 25th. I am sending out a second plea for anyone that personally knows Kurt to email a Character Letter to his public defender Jeffrey_Williams@FD.ORG. Is there anyone out there who can write a letter on behalf of Kurt? I am sure if any of you, who know him , were to ask for his help he would step forward. Please don't delete this plea. Please it will only take 10 minutes of your time to email a character letter on his behalf to his lawyer. Kurt told me he has known many people in the music world for several years and he is counting on your help now. Thanking you in advance for any help. A special thanks to the 2 friends who have already emailed a letter.

I hope he gets the help he deserves. He belongs in prison for a while.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, KURT HAS BEEN IN FEDERAL PRISON OVER 6 MONTHS WITHOUT PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING. WE ARE PRAYING THE JUDGE GIVES HIM TIME SERVED WITH MANDATORY COUNSELING. YES HE NEEDS COUNSELING BUT WE DON'T FEEL HE NEEDS TO BE IN A FEDERAL PRISON IN THE GENERAL POPULATION ANY LONGER FOR MAILING THAT LETTER. WE BELIEVE THAT WILL NOT HELP KURT. PLEASE HELP US PRAY TO GOD FOR WHAT IS BEST FOR KURT. I BELIEVE YOU DO NOT KNOW KURT PERSONALLY TO WISH HIM TO REMAIN IN PRISON. I THINK IF YOU KNEW HIM PERSONALLY YOU WOULD FEEL DIFFERENTLY. ANYWAY THANK YOU FOR AT LEAST RESPONDING THAT IS MORE THEN SOME OF HIS FRIENDS HAVE DONE. I'M SORRY YOU NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO KNOW THE REAL KURT ONLY THE ONE YOU HAVE READ ABOUT IN THE NEWSPAPER OR SEEN ON TV. AGAIN THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING.

If my wife planned on doing the same things I'd hope that she'd get some help too. It's nothing that knowing him personally could fix. He's fucked up and needs help. End of story. He can get it in prison, where he deserves to be punished for planning such a heinous crime.

Can you provide some statistical studies that show evidence to Federal prisons being an effective institution for rehabilitation of people mental problems?

Nope, and I'm sure any numbers you post will have to do with petty crimes like drug dealing and stealing and shit, not violent crimes.

Some people just can't be rehabbed, who knows if this nut is one of them? But he still deserves to be in prison for what he was planning on doing, and followed through on. It's a good thing he didn't shoot anyone after he got to the Super Bowl but the intent was totally there and that's more than enough to punish the guy for. I know prisons have psychiatric care wards though, and I'm certain he can get help there.

I understand being personally connected to him may obfuscate your clarity on the issue Jan, but make no mistake -- he's in jail for a reason, and it's not a case of misapplied justice.

Maybe, just MAYBE, you should leave the judgement about Kurt's chances of being rehabbed to someone who knows something.

Jan, i think the point is: Don't expect a letter from Hunter.

Not sure if anyone here actually knows Kurt personally, but those are the people who will be more sympathetic, i think.

My point is, the guy deserves punishment and he shouldn't be given a light sentence when considering what his plans were to do. He needs to get help, sure, but he can get that help in prison. If he can't, he's "unfixable."

Any 5 year old would tell you what he did was wrong, so I think we can all agree he deserves to be in prison for what he did, and what he was further planning to do.

I can't imagine the horror your family is dealing with but you have to realize he's lucky he didn't pull out that rifle and shoot someone while he was there. I mean, he even mailed his "manifesto" and went and bought guns and ammunition and DROVE TO THE SUPER BOWL PARKING LOT. Just because he said "Ah, fuck it" at that point doesn't make it ok and that he should be forgiven and let off with probation.

In short, take your bullshit and get the fuck out of here. Kurt is a criminal and he doesn't deserve sympathy. I would pray, and I'm not religious, that he would have been given the death penalty had he actually shot and killed someone. He's lucky he wised up after his retarded Drunkenstein's plan got shot the fuck down. Anyone who is that unstable because their stupid fucking idea backfired on them should be locked up anyhow. They're too fucking stupid to get by in the real world.

Hunter, why didn't you just skip right to the part where you wish he killed himself? It would have saved you alot of 'almost sounding like you cared whether he got help or not'. Did this guy bang your girlfriend or owe you money or something? You seem like you're taking this awefully personal-like.
