i did file a police report in AZ!

i wonder if they would extradite him back to AZ? is there a time limit on warrants?

i doubt any criminal action would still hold up. even if the statute of limitations hadn't expired, good luck trying to get an arizona cop to try and get in touch with the DC cops to try and arrest the guy. not that you shouldn't give it a try, but i think you might be wasting energy if you put a whole lot of effort into that route. HOWEVER - i'm willing to bet you could sue his ass. as long as you find out where he lives you could serve him. i'd sue him for the value of your property (as listed in the police report) plus interest.

don't waste any other effort on this clown. just get your money and move on. don't empower him.

Yep you could sue him in small claims court. The fact that you filed a police report and if you paid off those debts he owes you. Sue him and have them garnish his wages.

I'll keep an eye out for you - I'm on the train pretty much every day. Bike to train, train to Tempe, bike to office. Back again in the afternoon. From my door to office it's usually about 35 minutes. A free transit pass is a perk @ my wife's job, so I don't have to pay anything for the commute... takes perhaps 5 minutes longer than driving over, paying for parking, then walking a mile to my office. Plus I use my phone to catch up on news, email, etc for the 20 minutes or so that I'm actually on the train. Won't work for everyone, but it's perfect for me.
