$50 - ouch! $15/week and 15 mins each way a day for me. An hour each way, I don't have the kind of time to waste on travel.

I wonder how long it would take to bike it the whole way though. hmmmm.

How far? city travel, depending on your bike, etc, I'd say estimate maybe 5-7 minutes per mile. Take a little time to scout some back road routes: quieter, nicer, safer. Get some flashing lights for your bike (cheap) if you'll be out real early or late. When the weather's nice, I'll go as far as about 10 miles on the bike to commute, but for me about 3 miles each way is roughly where the cost in time spent starts to outweight the benefits of bike vs car.

and I know it takes that long for Mikey because we work at the south garage for the buses hahaha, a little less conveient to use transit.

Eh too far to bike for me. I mean it would be cool but the ride home would suck balls. Plus riding my bike is something I do when I want to shake the day off if its something I have to do then it becomes far less appealing to me.

I like going to the gym in the morning anyways instead of riding my bike. So glad it opens at 4am on the weekdays.

There are a fair number of folks who would do this bike commute year-round and not think twice about it... for me that's more than I'd sign up for regularly - unless it were a real nice ride, along a canal or something. Through south Phx, though? mmmm....

suppose you could bike one way, bus the other?
