mike the first time i met you, you were doing sound at hollyood alley. maybe at optimist's open mic? i remember thinking your songs were very cool.

and that you had big hair.

i was playing guitar for johnny bionic around that time....

Electronic, Electronic Blood BLOOD!

oh yeah, I miss Johnny B too.

I also miss Mike Montoya's open mic night at Monroe's. Circa 2006.

sort of unrelated, the old casablancas is now capitol sports lounge and we might b interested in having an open mic nite on sundays. we've done all sorts of upgrades and it would b an awesome venue if anyone is interested in starting something like this. 18th ave and van buren across from capitol coffee.

I first saw World Class Thugs as a full band at a coffee shop in tempe. Damn I forgot the name of it!
Next to a shop called plaid, and I used to do my laundry in the same plaza. Near Rural and Apache. Thats where I would always hangout with Dana and Lucas when The Budget Sinatra first got started.

But I met WCT at Hollywood Alley as well as most everyone else :)

Oh Open Mics, I loved going to them when I was younger. I think I am gonna pick the tradition up by going to Urban Bean on tuesdays and see if we can not only get the old schoolers out, but find some new blood as well.

People don't give a shit, unless it affects them personally, this affects me personally!

So much awesome in this thread. Not a local so I don't have anything worthwhile to contribute, but keep it coming guys :)

Well I guess I do have one thing. Trip to PHX in 2006 to see Jenova Project and Chief Beef at Modified. I think I'm probably younger than most of the shizz even now, but at 19 I was a real youngin' then. I was a broke college kid, and I had fallen into a real depression slump so I wanted to do something meaningful with what money I had. So I drove from Dallas out to PHX just to meet some of you guys and see some awesome bands. Stayed at Guy in Rubber Suit's house (not sure he posts 'round these parts anymore), hung out with him and a few other 'bossies mostly, but also with Mig, weener, Tender Lad, and the JP crew. Talked a bunch of guitarra with Colin, AB and JohnMFer. At one point I locked my keys in my car, it was going to be $100 to get it unlocked so Sherv called AAA for me and said it was his car  Had some of the best Mexican food I've ever had at a restaurant downtown, I wish I could remember the name of it. Then I got kicked out of Papago's along with another 'bossie for being underage, so we all went to some Asian place next door, just because of that. In short, you guys are awesome

I miss the Emerald too. We (Meatwhistle) used to cover the place in beer, whipped cream, chocolate sauce & blood. Plus the stage was so small that Ron had to stand in front of my drums and I would shove a stick in his G-string-wearing ass any chance I could get.

*sigh*

I miss Meatwhistle shows more than any shows ever.
er, I guess Meatwhistle is tied with IHYWYP
