i feel the same response when i see some
betty hauling in her boyfriends equipment.
i always ask if she's in the band
(knowing what she'll say say)
and when she says no, i ask why not.
why not , indeed. don't you have anything to say?
i ask them. don't you want to bitch in a public forum
about a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g ?
some girls say they want to and i tell tham to get their shit
together and i'll give them a show.
i went on a roadtrip this weekend and realized that i had packed
mostly female/(and or female fronted) bands....
BOTTOM
PARTY OF ONE
V FOR VENDETTA
SALT N PEPA
it's all about setting examples Weenzy. you rock. and you make it look
cool and fun. you get in a pile of people and you make it look cool and fun.
you stand up with a bad-ass grin and it's cool and fun.
little girls get their role models the same way little boys do. by watching.
You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve Albini? You just put your lips together and blow.

A lot of girls come up to me and say "oooh my god you TOTALLY RULE. I wanna be in a band so bad but...but..." And I slap them and yell "DO IT!!!!!!"
OMG I was doing sound at the Jar the other night and I saw Financial Panther! Chick drummer and she totally ruled at it! That was awesome.
I looooove playing with bands with other girls....it's only happened a few times, i.e.
The Madcaps
DeSade
Uhhhh....something called Elektrik Shokk or something
Boomin' Bettys (great band)

Something called Stewed Tippler I think, I liked them a lot
Then I've SEEN a few local bands with girls, i.e.
Budget Sinatra
World Class Thugs
Financial Panther
That's all I can think of right now. How sad.
Yeah we should get something together with CHICKS CHICKS CHICKS!! At the Modified! No band that doesn't have at least one chick!

they are all girls but for some reason i don't like them, probably the same reson i didn't like the peeps.
i just thought they weren't any good at playing music and the music they were playing i got bored with as i think its pretty run of the mill nothing new boring blagh.

I've never seen them, but I didn't like the Peeps either. It was too gimmicky and not that interesting. Hell on Heels looks the same way.
Anyone read the New Times article heaping praise on them?

but then there are girls who try to use there looks to make up for there
ability to make good music.
I guess there are guys that might do that too, but it seems more apparant
with women.
Yeah, let us know when your singer is back from Germany and we can
set something up.
