a documentary of his life is in the works, apparently with his participation - "The Drift" is excellent -
don't forget about The Red Krayola's new LP "Introduction" - it's doing very well on the personal charts - a documentary of this most legendary collective is also in the works with the full participation of Mayo T. -
also, though nobody seems to give a fuck about the most important band to ever come from Phoenix, Sun City Girls have recently released the 14th installment in their "Carnival Folklore Resurrection" series - it's a radio show they did for the BBC and it's called "Static From the Outside Set" - available on their website - 1000 copies only - it is quite possibly the most frank, open, and restlessly creative piece in the series - don't miss out! - don't be a fucking fool! -
don't forget about His Name Is Alive - they are playing live at Solar Culture in Tucson on May 29th as part of the first major tour they've done in 10 years - it will be sonically and visually opulent, i promise - their new album "Detrola" is an all-too-brief masterpiece, teeming with the accessible/experimental melieu of their previous masterwork, "Stars On E.S.P." -if you like music - that is MUSIC - not faces or movements or buzzwords - you owe it to yourself to witness this momentous occasion -
my advice: stop being so "current" -
