Ratatat - LP3. Hmmm. It alternates good song, meh song, good song. Sort of disappointing. The good tracks are really, reeeally good though.

shit. i need to find this.

when is the official release?

TIME TO DOWNLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAD.

July 8th. After listening again this morning, I revise my opinion. It's different, but pretty damn good. It kicks through a pair of headphones.

Shempi is among the best songs they've ever done.

yeah, dude, i thought the same thing after my first listen. it's definitely not as immediately catchy.
but after a few more listens, i really like it a lot. i think they are progressing, which is cool.

i'm about halfway through the album.

i wanted to add something here, but i think you two pretty well covered it.

god, some of this is absolutely incredible, and some of it seems pretty bland - though i'm confident that with repeated listenings, it will all even out.

goddamn, the arpeggiator use is SO AWESOME.

No Age - Nouns - This sounds nothing like I thought it would. I love it. Brain Burner is such a great song.
The Avalanches - Since I Left You
Bus Driver - Roadkillovercoat
Liars - All of them. I should have been listening to these guys all along.

Due to the fact that I love the other three selections, I guess I need to look into Avalanches.

Despite intentions to save money, I made the horrible mistake of going to the bar and getting sufficiently fuckered up last Friday.

What do you know? I have another handful of new albums.

Spiritualized ~ Songs in A&E (I would like to strongly recommend this to anyone who will listen to me. "Death Take Your Fiddle" is incredible)
Mates of State ~ Re-Arrange Us (i seriously love this band)
Coalesce ~ 0:12
Mudhoney ~ Superfuzz Bigmuff remaster
Mogwai ~ Young Team remaster
Be Your Own Pet ~ Get Awkward (first album was so much better)
Islands ~ Arm's Way
At the Drive-In ~ Acrobatic Tenement
Butthole Surfers ~ Independent Worm Saloon
Anal Cunt ~ I Like it When You Die (:D)

And a few weeks ago, I mail-ordered

Portishead ~ Glory Times (double single, remixes of Sour Times and Glory Box)

What's more, I got about a half-dozen dozen random albums from Iverson. Hopefully, they will keep me occupied, so I can save money and actually travel this summer.

Emperors of Japan
Myspace

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
