-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

I bought Vampire Weekend on a whim tonight and I'm pleasantly surprised. "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" sounds like it could be a Paul Simon song.
Just finished listening to it. I can't lie. Despite avoiding it because of all the attention it got, it's a pretty good record. However, I'm more than willing to predict a sophomore jinx. I'm not sure that they can make another record with similar energy. I am going to pre-emptively say that this will be because their next record will have "high-end" (read: boring and safe) production values. Guess we'll have to wait until 2009 to see, though.
Times New Viking ~ Rip It Off
Big Black ~ Atomizer
Fuck Buttons ~ Street Horrrsing
Unwound ~ Leaves Turn Inside You
Von Sudenfed ~ Tromatic Reflexxions
Rodan ~ Rusty
Now I'm gonna finish watching Raiders of the Lost Ark.
