This guy. Dan Snaith.
He writes incredible music.
The song structures linger into IDM territory, but he only uses analog samples. Plus, he sings every now and again.
He had an album under the name Manitoba. It ruled.
Then he had another album under the name Caribou. That one ruled, too.
Now, he's got a DVD that is basically a a visual representation of those albums. It's totally fucking art school, and incredibly pleasing to the eyes.
What's more, it comes with a bonus CD with 4 new songs.
Caribou ~ Marino: The videos.
Please watch. It's inexpensive.

He actually had two albums under the name Manitoba. His first, "Start Breaking My Heart", is pretty much just IDM, but it's still pretty solid. I'd make the winking face, but that shit's for bitches. He had an album under the name Manitoba. It ruled.
Oh, and Manitoba/Caribou kicks a lot of ass. I second that everyone should listen to him.
Iron and Wine - Woman King EP. Holy crap. Sam Beam gets better and better with each release.
Part Chimp - I Am Come
Jens Lekman - Oh You're So Silent Jens. This dude's brilliant. Plain and simple.
