did you catch caribou when he was touring? The live performances are so much more gratifying.Okay, so.
This guy. Dan Snaith.
He writes incredible music.
The song structures linger into IDM territory, but he only uses analog samples. Plus, he sings every now and again.
He had an album under the name Manitoba. It ruled.
Then he had another album under the name Caribou. That one ruled, too.
Now, he's got a DVD that is basically a a visual representation of those albums. It's totally fucking art school, and incredibly pleasing to the eyes.
What's more, it comes with a bonus CD with 4 new songs.
Caribou ~ Marino: The videos.
Please watch. It's inexpensive.

thanks to mancopter for pointing me toward the torrent site.
shorter, more concise song structures like Happy Songs for Happy People, but much more volume/aggression/noise a la young team.
and, out of 100% coincidence, the opening track is titled Auto Rock
these guys are obviously fans of engrish.com as there's at least one other song title pulled from that site.
