#1426280 COVID-19

The testing place said to self-quarantine until I get my results. But my work doesn't offer paid leave unless I get a positive test. And for leaves of absence that aren't prompted by a positive case, you only get 14 days of unpaid job protected LOA. I already took my 14 days in April. So I'm kinda forced to go into work. D:

...and it's stupid work policies like this that will help continue the spread.

#1425727 Depression And Other Social Issues

Posted by matsunami on 29 June 2020 - 05:52 AM

Saw a doctor and got a bloodtest and I'm fine. But it's been like 11 days and i still cant feel half my face, my lips or my teeth. It so fucking weird. And I'm constantly getting waves up and down my body like I'm on drugs or something. I guess this is my life now??

You should seriously consider cutting back to 1 cup of coffee or less a day just to see if that's the root of your problem.  2 pots of coffee is a lot.

Snappleman. I love you <3 And I enjoy all our late night talks about shredding, mixing, history, and normal shit shooting.

Also..so I have anxiety and depression and I get panic attacks. Usually mini ones..but since the pandemic they have gotten out of control I had a bad 2 hour long panic attack which then caused the right side of my face to go numb, including my lips and teeth. And then weird waves of tingles throughout my entire body. This happened on thursday (a week ago) and i still have it. So I just had a video call with a doctor to finally take the first steps to something I have been trying to mentally fight for a long time. If anyone knows me personally and has hung out with you me you notice how I get fully energized and am fun and happy and then out of nowhere i become silent and distant and i bounce back and forth between that. Well thats why. Doctor is giving my Lexapro. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm a little nervous to take it.

Dude, I can tell you all about the face numbing panic attacks where my body tingles and my hands tense up into lobster claws.  I have suffered MANY of them since I was 20.  One time I even had an ambulance come pick me up on the side of the road because I thought I was dying.  I can completely empathize with what you're going through.

Here's the deal:

- I've been on Celexa for almost half my life on and off.  It will help but you need to get to the root of your anxiety and try to identify what's triggering it, then work from there.  If you can get to a point where you can come off meds, great!  If not, just accept that sometimes your body lacks the proper chemicals needed to maintain a sort of "normalcy".  Also, this world is fucking crazy so it's no wonder why we all have so much anxiety.

- The meds can take a few months to properly work so don't give up early on.  It may or may not change your chemistry\libido etc but you will not know until you give the medicine a fair chance.  If things go completely off the rails, Lexapro might not be for you

- Talk to your doctor about Lorazepam as well.  These are my sort of emergency pills if I can't get out of my head during an attack.  I put one under my tongue and it usually takes around 30 minutes or so to start kicking in.

- Consider a therapist.

- Look up tips on how to deal with panic attacks in the moment.  Try to be mindful that they're just an attack and will pass.  In other words, get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I was on a meeting with another tech from Texas the other day and he was so arrogant about the situation.  Saying he doesn't wear a mask when he goes shopping and tells them he has a medical condition ("he's allergic to BS").  Then I asked him about the rise in cases in Texas and he said "oh, those were mostly from prisons".  Now I'm seeing they had 2400 new cases yesterday.  Southerners.....UGH (no offense to any southerners on this board).

The only good 2D Sonic is Sonic 2 on Genesis.  Sonic 1 is too slow and platforming heavy (but hell of a soundtrack).  Sonic 3\Sonic and Knuckles\Chaotix\CD are all way too bloated and just not...fun?

The only good 3D Sonic is Generations.
