The first album I owned was the Sublime CD my brother bought me for Christmas when I was maybe 14, and then for my birthday a month later he got me The Presidents of the United States of America. The first time I went out and bought CDs for myself (from Best Buy ) I got Nirvana - Nevermind and In Utero, and Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

It wasn't till later that I discovered real record stores and a band called The Toy Dolls!

I haven't seen it since the 80's though, but I remember watching it and thinking it was great.


I mostly taped everything off the radio, and played mixed tapes of radio songs around the house.

I always had "Your a good man Charlie brown" on vinyl when I was small but the first thing I bought
I think was the soundtrack to La Bamba, I loved that movie.

I remember getting Bon Jovi's Slippery when wet and Paul Simon's Graceland

I remember the last record I ever bought, new on vinyl, like before cassettes came into fashion, was also Inxs. I bought Inxs Kick and U2 Joshua Tree on record. Then I discovered the wonders of cassette tape.


Speaking of records, Jen, I have GOT to come over and get those records from you guys!
