Seriously, no hard feelings on my part. A little respect goes a long way though. All of my posts are quite serious, no jokes ... including Frank Zappa's lyrics.

you're right, i actually didn't read through your post, i was busy high-fiving my friends cause our team won, and the "scene" rules!
in fact, i can barely read!  and you're right, it's because i'm not getting laid enough.  genius!

that was a BRILLIANT image of a shovel! i loved it SO MUCH, i copied it!
and if i had a sticker... it'd be yours! ;)
well done!
but i wonder... isn't it difficult, feeling like you're 'missing out' on the 'inside joke' (a bit of cynicism)?
apparently, we're suddenly "all business," (i imagine BTO trailing behind... )
poor bachman turner overdrive...
i thought (silly me!) that playing and experiencing music was supposed to be fun!
perhaps my responses to certain comments were blunt... sorry, gang! ;)
i feel only met ridiculous comments with equally ridiculous responses.

perhaps you should 'dig in' to an 'exciting' career in computer animation!
(dialogue obviously isn't your thing!)
and while you're at it, try pursuing a life of taking yourself VERY seriously!
wait... nevermind. i'm thinking you've got that 'handled.'
i also wonder... why isn't anyone commenting on my previous posts (pgs. 4 + 5)?

oops!
wait!
holy shit!
fuck!
you're a shizz "pharoah."
sorry.
(turning and running away)

i guess this is how you folks treat the natives...
maybe that's why our music "scene" FUCKING RULES so much! ;)
high-five!

ignorance MUST be bliss! :)
we all have our opinions...
cheers to everyone.
and hope for some goddamn dignity for this town...

...and they ALWAYS go for personal shots. Not criticisms based on musical theory, but always whatever their problem with ME is.

I was just describing what I thought of your performance. It couldn't be personal cuz I don't know you nor have any connections with you. Unless you really are mentally disabled, then I'm sorry I didn't know.

it's just one man's opinion, get over it. 1 in 99.

thanks for reminding us what this thread is about after going to great lengths to defend your integrity.

Out of curiosity, when and where was this performance you witnessed?

very uncool to call someone a high-functioning retard. We understand that you don't like the music, but show some class.

i kinda started this whole mess. sorry. it started under the grand cayanne music festival thread, and then brodie moved it here, because i guess he thought it shouldnt be attached to the festival. i wish he hadnot moved it, but whatever. it would be cool if more people in this city cared about the arts. i could give a shit about "how to make the scene better" or "we need to make phoenix cool" or any of that other horse shit. it would just be nice if more people came to support art. im not sure why that is such a difficult idea to get behind.

write songs and have fun doing it. paint paintings and have fun doing it. play video game theme songs, and have fun doing it. because if you dont have fun unless a lot of people like it, you're in the wrong line of work. if you do it to try to get a lot of people to like it, it wont be that good. the most popular flavor of ice cream is vanilla.

i just wish people who arent in bands would care a little more. that would be pretty cool. dont you think?

Shut up, elitist rockstar. ;)

While the subject title was a tongue-in-cheek nod to your comments (and I did start a new thread because I didn't want it to seem like Charlie or the Festival or the bands were getting picked on, I thought a more general discussion was in order), and I think individual artistic expression and the actions behind it are important, it just seems like there is some negative energy about "the town" and I was curious what people's ideas are on how to change it.

The consensus seems to be that we don't change it, we just do what we do, and hopefully people will catch on.

I still advocate more concentrated efforts on doing things that are going to benefit the community as a whole as a marketable thing. Not selling out all our ideals, but just getting more people's attention and telling them to come check it out. I think there are hundreds of alienated high school kids and bored twentysomethings who have no idea what we're up to.
