i ran into sean jihad while i was getting pizza, and it turns out he and ben are now working the espresso machine at the pink spot.
it opens at 6am everyday and has free wifi and comfy sofas.
its at 3rd ave and thomas, so its basically a few blocks from the old willow house.
luckily for me, its super close to where i work, so i'll probably start stopping by for coffee before work.
perhaps we should all do so?

Willow House was great for me (besides all of the other reasons that it was great) because I could stick around in downtown and get some writing done here and there rather than heading all the way home.
This weekend, I found myself posting up at Safeway in their little seating area (eschewing their Starbucks for some Lucerne-branded snacks) and then Lost Leaf on Sunday evening. Both felt weird.
That's good to hear about the Pink Spot - it looks like they're open until 9pm during the week and 'til 10pm on weekends:

Conspire is open until 10pm each night.
Fair Trade isn't open that late ...
Any other places?

the cool thing is that it is next to revolver records
Ezekiel 4:12 (God wants you to eat poop)
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (Kill your son if he is disrespectful and a drunk)
Ah, the wonderful Peru

So, the coffeehouse that's open at 3rd Avenue & McDowell is now called Hob Nobs.
I don't know if they ultimately relented because they had a change of heart or were faced with legal action, but at least it's definitely not "Willo House" anymore.

I haven't decided if I'll check out or not, but if anyone does, definitely do tell!

I have not yet checked out Hob Nob's but heard they have completely redone the interior and it seems a little more posh then the old coffee shop before.

I believe that they're open from 8am until at least 7pm everyday, and later while shows are going on at Space 55.
They mostly have coffee and teas, bottled bevs, and pre-packaged goods (like danishes and bowls of cereal).
Check it out!

OK, First, I will accept any name calling, or illl feelings towards me for checking this place out but, I did. and,
Hob Nobs is the epitome of what's gone wrong with Phoenix and/or gentrification of cities. First, the place is called Hob Nobs for chrisakes! Second, everything has been erased which once was. Third, it's clean inside. Fourth, all culture has vanished. We walked in and stood at the counter while the paper hat and white outfit wearing chef walked by me three times without looking at me. there was only one other customer in there, and two employees behind the counter(which isn't where it used to be). They both ignored me until I folded my arms. Then! The paper hat wearing chef said "what's up, DUDE?" and the "dude" came out like, (you look like someone I don't want in here and someone who used to come in." I said, "well, DUDE, what kinda hot tea you got?" He said," well, we got hot tea. Lipton. Or I can make it with ice." .... "huh?" I thought... and he was even snide about it! after that I didn't say anything and I left.
I knew I shoulda never went in there, and I never will.
I call for a full BOYCOTT of Hob NObs... unless they serve me a fine hob nob.
fuck this place, seriously.

You can park in the loading zone to get your coffee and be in your way in a jiffy.
I am there almost every morning now.

Looks like I won't even need to boycott that place, as it sounds like it sucks pretty bad on its own
yeah, I think it's only a boycott if it's some product that I'd actually purchase at some point. :-)
I'll stick with Fair Trade or Conspire; Cartel if I'm in Tempe.
