I always take things like this with a grain of salt and discount a bunch of it, but man, if even half of it is accurate....yikes.

ugh. it's so uncomfortable watching her speak. i think ricky gervais might be writing for her.
That's probably one of the best things I've read that was written about her!
The only other competitor was from an actual conservative from FreeRepublic.com who said, "I can see the moon from my backyard, but it doesn't make me an astronaut."
praise from caesar. i'm honored.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

i hate to change the subject back to McCain, but THIS is a doozy of a read! It's long, but a THRILL RIDE start to finish!!
I always take things like this with a grain of salt and discount a bunch of it, but man, if even half of it is accurate....yikes.
Parts of his memoir recounting his days in Hanoi read like a bad Ian Fleming novel, with his Vietnamese captors cast as nefarious Bond villains. On the Fourth of July 1968, when he rejected the offer of early release, an officer nicknamed "Cat" got so mad, according to McCain, that he snapped a pen he was holding, splattering ink across the room.
"They taught you too well, Mac Kane," Cat snarled, kicking over a chair. "They taught you too well."

I found a few resources that dish about McCain's voting record with regards to veteran's healthcare and the GI Bill, pretty sad stuff - the guy was a POW and won't even vote to give more funding to veteran's hospitals.
McCain seems to be fine with sending our young men and women to fight indefinitely in an unnecessary war but against providing them with adequately funded medical and long term healthcare institutions upon their return.
McCain has gotten a grade of “D” from the Irag and Afghanistan Veterans of America. They gave Obama a B+ on his voting record –Source here.
Here’s a really good article on McCain’s voting record with regards to war veterans, it’s quite a travesty that someone who knows war does not vote on legislation that benefits his fellow veterans! McCain Voted At Least 28 Times Against Veterans' Benefits, Including Healthcare.
Article
The article and research to back it up is quite shocking.
Also Disabled American Veterans gave McCain a 20% approval rating based on his voting records while they gave Obama an 80% approval rating:
Source
And our current Democrat congress ain’t so bad with regards to vet healthcare, at least they passed the most current vet benefit bill: Here
McCain and his lies about his veteran organization endorsements:
here
Here's my fav quotes from the above:
Quote:
He said that he had "a perfect voting record from organizations like the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion." But we called both of those groups, and they told us they don't even release congressional scorecards. In fact, the American Legion's constitution prohibits it.
McCain doesn’t have a perfect score with DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a group of 1.3 million disabled veterans that supports more funding for veterans health care. McCain has a 20 percent record of voting the way DAV would like him to in 2006. The group is nonpartisan, but its 100 percent rankings disproportionately go to Democrats: 207 Democrats in Congress and only 13 Republicans received scores of 100 percent in 2006. Senators were evaluated on five votes for amendments that would have increased funding for veterans’ health care.

They did a very good unbiased job of describing the political biographys of both Obama and McCain and the decsions, pitfalls and accomplishments of both men.
The best quote from this comes at the end, "Both candidates convey a sense of breaking from the status quo...the question to the voter is who is actually going to deliver..." I like that. Because they both lately are sounding the same on a lot of issues. This is going to be a very intersting election either way, no matter who wins. Final debate tonight!
