i have head quite a few veggie ones. corn/green chile, cream cheese/mushroom, pumpkin, cheddar and jalapeno. we have some bluberry/cream ones in the freezer right now that i have about zero interest in. i love blueberries, but eek on that.yes! the year before last, I had the strawberry and the pineapple tamales. SO GOOD. well - basically the only ones that were vegetarian. hahaha
my favorite place is definitely the Tamale House. any other ones i should know of?

what's in the masa? I don't eat shortening either. I don't eat "manteca" or whatever brand of lard for sure and most times people use shortening as a veggie alternative. But I don't eat that crap either.
