I really thought nader was going to pull 5% in 2000.

I was shocked actually. and bummed.

why isn't there any attempt for cooperative politics in this country? In a lot of european states, you see coalition building between like-minded groups... say in 2000, Gore sat down with the greens and said 'i'm willing to apoint a green as head of the EPA', or even offer Nader a position in his cabinet. if the greens had decided that a coalition with democrats was a better idea then running Nader, perhaps enough of those Nader votes would have gone to Gore to make a difference, and we might not have W running the show. we might even have Nader already high in the government.

I'd be more inclined to vote for Kerry/democrats if I knew a substantial part of his policy would be influenced by the green party. but since both the republincans and the democrats try so hard to meet in the middle with each other... argh.

sleep easy...........................................

im not sure if this is harder to explain or harder to understand but:

i rest a little easier knowing i will probably not ever rest easy. i take a certain comfort in knowing whoever wins this election it will not be who i vote for and i will not rest easy. this comfort is minimal at best, but i gladly take it over the sense of security many of the kerry-to-remove-bush voters will soon find to be false should they succeed.

Kent: Senator Dole, why should people vote for you instead of President Clinton?
Kang: It makes no difference which one of us you vote for. Either way, your planet is doomed. DOOMED!
Kent: Well, a refreshingly frank response there from senator Bob Dole.

Citizen Kang....it says it all.

I think I'm angrier with those who would vote for Nader than I am those who are voting Bush. Seems like you Nader voters should know better.

You want to talk about voting on principles? Where are Nader's principles? He KNOWS he is potentially fucking up our chances of getting Bush out of office (I give more credit to the anti-Bush voters, I think the majority of them will realize voting Kerry is the best choice), and he is running anyway. Despite MANY MANY MANY people BEGGING him not to run. He's doing it anyway. You may think that's ballsy, but I think it's plain selfish.

I want cooperative politics, too. More than a 2 party system. But that's not what we got right now, and if you vote for Bush or waste your vote on Nader, it's gonna be a one party system before you know it.

Lastly...

Do you honestly think Kerry is that bad of a guy? Have you looked into his history at all? It seems way too cynical to write him off as just another politician...

us nader voters should know better?
know what better? why should i vote
for kerry when i would rather see nader
president?

the people who are asking nader to stop
running are the people that should know
better. why would you ask anyone to not
run, to not do something which is a right
afforded to them by this country? just to
get bush out of office? i want to see him
out of office too. but i don't really want to
see kerry in there. i don't think it's "ballsy",
i think it's great that he doesn't listen to
peer pressure.

have you looked at kerry's history
at all? he is just another politician, albeit
on the democratic side. take a look at the
way he's voted on some of the bills that have
come his way.

this is already a one party system.
i ask again, how do people feel that life
will be better under kerry?

there was this kid once and he decided to run for school board cause he could at age 18, his main reason was to get his principle relocated to a different school becasue he was, in the opinion of the kid a bad principle. so he runs for schoolboard and all these parents threw up their arms in outrage and 5 of them decided to run as well so this kid could not get on the board, what ended up happening was all the parents disbursed the votes 5 ways and the kid ended up winning the race. and ultimatly relocating the principle

now i understand we don't have 5 people disbursing votes but i do believe in reality we only have a 2 party race, one of those parties is to me satan on earth. by voting for someone else just to get a third party is voting on principle just as voting for one person to get the other out is voting on principle. i don't see the rural comunnity ( a major factor) or people age 50+ voting for nadder (also a major factor) i don't see nadder winning the race. i would rather have satan gone, and then in another 4 years try to get a 3rd party going.

i mean waht would happen to the world if george is re-elected? god help us all

i love you all and agree to dissagree just my 2 cents

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

again, i don't like kerry
but there is no way in hellllllllll
someone can actually say that
kerry and bush are one in the same
sorry but that notion is just absurd
yeah some of the bills passed that he voted on
are very questionable
but kerry and bush do not have the same agenda
no fucking way
look at the damage bush has done in 4 years
i just do not see someone like kerry doing nearly half the damage that THE bush
has done........and that is worth not voting for someone that will not even win, is not
even running in the green party, and will not get his 5%.........
why? i am worried about the consequences of bush being in office for another 4 years,
not some idealistic notion, which is a good one to have if our country and the world
were not on the brink of who knows fucking what.............
i'll worry about changing our system once i don't have to worry about some fucking
asshole putting the lives of my family at risk....................................

you would ask nader to not run for
president or ask someone to not
vote for him. that's insane. and sad.
