man, i guess we'll just agree to
disagree...i can't believe some of
you would ask nader to not run for
president or ask someone to not
vote for him. that's insane. and sad.

you can do whatever you want
that's not what i'm saying
i just do not agree with you
and we are debating both sides
that is all
i don't think that is sad
it's pretty healthy
i might not change your mind
you might not change mine
but maybe, perhaps, possibly
we are having a bit more of an understanding
of were eachother are coming from............
that's really all you can do
why is that insane? :)

and rudolofo, i'm not saying they eat the same food and play air guitar the same,

i guess i should have said they are almost the same\

burke, i guess i just don't give your/our average americans (the majority) enough credit to vote for nader.

and yes that is sad

i wish more young people vote,

oh and by the way any young people who need a voting registration form let me know jen and i have a huge stack of them, we will have them on first friday

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

[CYNICISM]
I'm going to admit something right up front. I don't know a lot about Kerry. But let's see, since about 1980 I've been following these presidential election things, and I'm going to go ahead and generalize based on that.

Bush and Kerry stand for the same things:

1.) Amassing power
2.) Getting re-elected

These guys are career politicians. They don't care about their constituents and they don't care about the world or the country. They care about themselves and their future opportunities. Any crumbs they throw us are only so that we continue to support them.

You can get Bush out of there and put Kerry in, but it's just going to be more of the same. That's because a president has only one true agenda each term:

Term 1: Get re-elected. Also, work on term 2's goal when possible.
Term 2: Set yourself up for the future. Speaking engagements. Book deals. Business alliances. There's big money in being the ex-president. Look at Bill Clinton. America is so fascinated by the fact that a man having a mid-life crisis was sticking his dick into some twentysomething woman with no self-confidence that they gave him 10 million dollars to write about it.

I say a vote for Kerry is a waste of a vote, even though I would be happier with Kerry than Bush. Bush is a fascist and a Nazi. But how is Kerry better? Is he going to repeal the Patriot Act and pull us out of Iraq? I doubt it. So what's the difference?

We would be much better off if ANY 3rd party candidate got 5% of the vote and could participate in the debates next time around.

i totally agree with you mike

but i'd rather give someone else a chance to fuck up rather then stick with someone we are positive is going to fuck up

i also agree with you in that i would also rather have a third party, i just don't see it happening this year

to me the glass is half empty

i wish i had the opptimism you all have but

one more thing to add
i never said nader should not run nor did i say
you should not vote for him...
i think he should run, if you want to vote for him then vote
for him, that's fine, i would not think less of a person if they
voted for nader, because i understand why
if this sounds shitty, well i just don't care-i am saying do not vote for
THE bush, i would think less of someone if they voted for bush.......

the bush administrations history is very sorted very scary
many deals made many deals to be had
kerry does not have nearly as many ties around the world
as does bush(his father as well), cheney, rumsfeld, powell, ashcroft, rice, etc etc etc
you can not argue that
not to mention social issuessssssssssssssssssssssss
there is a difference

These guys are career politicians.

the politics at play extend far beyond individual careers, and the scary histories extend far beyond this administration (or even daddy bush and reagan). when you are the president and your family ties include a president over 150 years ago (franklin pierce), you represent aristocracy in its most basic form.

these are not people of the people. these are people of the elite.

speaking of family histories...

the bush-bin laden family business ties seem nothing shocking, business as usual, to me, but have been critiqued as weak.

look up the connections between grandpas prescott bush and herbert walker and the nazis. thats some scary shit.

this was a very good debate...

anyways, if anti-nader-runners
want to check out this page, they
may find more reasons why voting
for nader would be a good thing...

why vote for ralph nader?
