See. now I totally disagree....

Awful, all of them.

Except for the ones that my friends are in, those bands are so awesome....

I enjoy Blackfeet, but I'm not sure I can say that now that I'm playing some drums for them....

They are playing tonight with the Fruit Bats at Modified...

They/we were OFFERED the show....

no ass kissing involved, though I offered.

You seem to be implying that all these bands are my friends...
Tsk, tsk... Honestly, I don't know most of them at all.
I'm that kid that hides in the back and doesn't draw any attention to himself, nor grease the palms/kiss ass for ANY band...
I just try to support the ones I like by showing up (a novel idea!) and stay away from talking shit... i've found that those who do generally want their band to be the constant focus of attention. (and I don't even play music!)
And honestly, I really like your band(s), but not your pompous attitude!
That's killing me.
You may have lost one of those unimportant, musically ignorant "kids" who attend your shows (hiding in the back)
(I've seen half a dozen at least!)
You do humor me though!
Good work! ;)
Hopefully that's what you were going for...
I'm just waiting for the punchline!

I remember a few months ago, somebody new in town started complaining about not getting good shows, and was torn a new asshole over it. It's the same thing at work here.

And two assholes are incredibly difficult to manage.

I think both are examples of not stopping to think before you talk. And too much self-involement. Not personally attacking you, Henri, cause I'm really guilty of it too. But it's just being too wrapped up in what you're doing to really truthully and pragmatically understand your surroundings.

although i do want to say that i never personally attacked anyone, brodie, just a band. ;)

by the way would anyone be interested in joining me on an entrepeneurial venture of opening up a club called the "impenetrable fort of awesomeness?" i need someone with, uh...money.

Don't be too hard on this Henri kid. Didn't we all go through some kind of idealistic phase when we were fifteen.

i haven't really chimed in on this subject other then a few jests to friends not relating to the big picture here, and i guess i'm really not going to now other then to say

THE HORSE IS DEAD PEOPLE!, IT WAS DEAD LAST TIME WE WE HAD A 10 PAGE ARGUMENT OVER THE "SCENE" IT WAS DEAD THE LAST TIME WE THROUGH AROUND ALL OUR CREDENTIALS, IT WAS DEAD THE LAST TIME SOME KID GOT ALL BENT OUT OF SHAPE BECAUSE LACK OF "UNITY"

it ain't getting any deader,

but i guess that would be cool, deader that is.

nevermind

carry on

DEADER!

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

Whoo. When I last posted it was on page 5, now it's page 10. This thread has seen the most activity on here in awhile. Feels like last year when Rudolpho of Pensacola would post 40 times a day.

Just to bring this dead horse across the finish line, some of you seem to think Henri is a young whippersnapper--he's definitely a 20 something who I believe works at ASU.

Here's his picture:
