Give the media something they might like...

that would help, too.

Taste is subjective, I know this....but when I trucked down Grand Ave last first friday

I'm embarassed by the lack of quality....Everyone is so into building a scene..at any cost...

If you build a house, and it's a piece of shit, it's just gonna fall down...

There are great little scenes all over this town.......well, I can't say if they're great or not, but they are out there...

I'm sure they'd be very happy to have an even tempered cat like yerself....

Just do your thing & quit worrying about what everyone else is doing, and judging everyone else for they are or aren't doing....

Just play good music, & be cool...the rest will take care of itself...

are we talking about 'scene' or 'community,' because scenes suck. most indie bands hit tucson anyway.

i feel like not enough of the talent is out performing, because they don't know that they can. they don't know that they can start a band and people all over town will let them play their venues. and they don't know it because they don't hear about it. i grew up on the west side of town and didn't know there were local bands here until the gin blossoms (how i missed the meat puppets, i may never know). and it wasn't until i got to college that i discovered how big the local music scene is. and diverse. it seems that if more people knew, more people would play, then we could really weed out the bad ones, like myself.

Poor thing...

As long as PHX tries to improve (which I think we are) people will stay informed about local music/art/film etc...
