BATTLE ROYALE RULES FOREVER.Was home sick yesterday.
Watched Eraserhead and Battle Royale.
I hated both.
Just kidding.
Eraserhead made beautiful use of it's black and white palette.
One of these days, I'll tackle Inland Empire, but 3 hours of David Lynch.... takes preparation.
I almost started The Elephant Man, but decided to go to sleep.

And then I watched [REC], which is the original (and superior) version of Quarantine. Holy shit, great movie. It was a great example of looooooong scenes with minimal editing. Highly recommended.

Videodrome. Sweet ass Cronenberg flick with James Woods and Debbie Harry. I love watching futuristic visions that have a tinge of truth to them.
Last House on the Left (1973). Been on a huge horror kick lately, and felt the need to watch this one, since it's regarded as a seminal piece. The low production adds to the weirdness, as does the super heavy thematic contrasts (goofy theme song playing during a kidnapping scene; following a brutal rape with a segment where two bumbling cops are trying to hitch a ride.) Clearly the product of inexperience, but it's still a difficult movie to forget.
Visioneers. Strange indie comedy about how society is losing its human element. Starts off okay, but I got the feeling that the filmmakers had too many loose ends to tie up, and didn't quite know how to do it. Zach Galifianakis does a surprisingly good job, especially considering the fact that there are some romantic elements. One impressive thing about his character is that he speaks very rarely. A lot of the plot unfolding is him watching everything happen around him. Glad I saw.

basically just a night time dramarama only with astronauts, including dr. office space.
i was kind of skeptical at first, but its 4 episodes in and i think i'm hooked.
it definitely has the 'oh shit big mysterious unkownish force is fucking shit up but what is it oh man wtf' type of thing like LOST does / did, but i highly doubt it will get as crazy as LOST (if it even gets another season...).
