So last night I finally discovered the genius of Takashi Miike. If you read this capthfc, sorry I ever doubted you.

I watched Gozu, which was a David Lynch homage at its heart.

And then I watched a short film collection called Three Extremes. His segment, "Box," was super ethereal, rolling between reality and dreams so much that you never quite know which is which. Park Chan-wook also had a beautiful segment called "Cut." I think I need to see his movies as well.

Oh yeah, I've also decided to start watching all of the Voltron episodes in order.

I was super hung over yesterday, so I watched a ton of movies.

Ghostbusters - got to see Ron Jeremy.
Young People Fucking - enjoyable dialog, the occasional sexy tit.
Palindromes - glad I saw the origin of this gif...Posted Image... but not a very good movie.
Tokyo Gore Police - from the maker of Machine Girl. Behold: (prolly NSFW). Shit the fuck yeah.

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

I saw this movie Primer last night. I guess I would describe it as a low budget sci-fi film about these science dudes that accidentally build a machine that lets them go back in time. But only like 12 hours, so days are 36 hours long (which sounds *awesome*). Or something. I don't know that I fully understood what all was going on, as I was multi-tasking. But, it was pretty cool, if for no other reason than to see how film makers can make a pretty decent sci-fi film without any special effects, but with writing/dialogue instead.

On deck is Synecdoche, New York. I love me some Charlie Kaufman...

I watched that a while ago. I pretty much ended up lost by the end of the movie.

I suppose I enjoyed the confusion though.

This is a movie I'll have to revisit, 'cause I didn't really care for it at all on the first go around (and I really wanted to)

I don't know, shit was just fucking crazy.

word. i also didn't like it. i have heard that watching it more than once is supposed to make it better but i am not really interested in doing that at this point. it seemed like 2 movies in one (maybe that was the point).
