I'm pretty sure that's what the GOP is counting on, and they're releasing all this info so that the responses to it will make people sorry for her. Srsly.

(I just want to be clear that I am not a McCain fan) But that looks like footage from the 70's and where are the sources of information? It seems a little over sensationalized and the easiest way to get people riled up is by showing animal cruelty. She might be all for the hunting of wolves from a plane, but this just seems too much like it came from Weekly World News.

I'll second that...i was thinking the same thing.

What better way to send a message about the reality of a situation than to show the brutal reality of the situation?

I mean, you can say "There's brutal killings going on in Darfur.", or "The Japanese are brutally murdering dolphins on their harbors.", but does that really have the same effect as actually seeing it happen? It's SUPPOSED to evoke negative emotions.

its like saying "dude, raub is so lazy" but until you actually witness the spectacle for yourself you can never truly appreciate it.

I did some research on the aerial wolf hunting.... From what I understand she supports it so the caribou population goes up so the hunters can kill the caribou. What a horrible way to manipulate the natural food chain. I said this last night at my show and will close this post with it as well.

Fuck Sarah Palin

Fuck John Mccain

and Finally FUCK THE GOP

Isn't that just an appeal to emotion fallacy though?

Thursday afternoon, Heart e-mailed out a statement regarding vice-presidential candidate Sarah "Barracuda" Palin's use of their similarly monikered song at the Republican National Convention: "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission," it read. "We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored."

But after McCain finished his speech accepting the GOP's presidential nomination tonight, Palin joined him on stage, and the song was used again: Heart's "Barracuda" played as balloons fell. With that elephant in the room, Heart's Nancy Wilson felt compelled to personally respond. "I think it's completely unfair to be so misrepresented," she said in a phone call to EW.com after the speech. "I feel completely f---ed over." She and sister Ann Wilson then e-mailed the following exclusive statement:

"Sarah Palin's views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image. The song 'Barracuda' was written in the late 70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The 'barracuda' represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, there's irony in Republican strategists' choice to make use of it there."

The Heart-McCain incident isn't the only example of music-related controversy on this year's presidential campaign trail. Click here to read Chris Willman's report about Barack Obama's eyebrow-raising use of Brooks & Dunn's "Only in America" after his nomination-acceptance address last week.

that's cool. I just hate it when people try to show graphic violence and cruelty as a means to send a message. It generally gets me more upset at the people sending the message then it is the message itself.

I agree with this being potentially over the top and potentially not real footage... here is the source

I'm sure many of you on this Site already know about this, but it's a pretty well written article.

I'm not a big fan of the despair expressed in the first half of it, but wholeheartedly agree with the tactics mentioned in the second half.

While folks shouldn't put up the white flags, Camp Obama / Biden definitely needs to re-focus what's going on.

As a sidenote, the Obama AZ headquarters is in downtown Phoenix - 6th Street, south of Roosevelt - essentially in the same neighborhood as Lost Leaf and Conspire:

I don't know if i can take another four years of republican power. I just don't know if my constitution can handle it.

I remember thinking there was no way Bush would be re-elected to another term. I was quite wrong. I hope this time around the Dems succeed.

i remember that very well. Utter disbelief. At least, this time, it'll be a maverick!! Maybe we'll adopt a new "National Aerial Wolf Hunting Day" and get a day off work.
