Hah. I'm with you there. It's like shopping for something that you know probably doesn't exist, but you hope to find something close enough anyway in the meantime. I think I'll take a break for a while. Or maybe I just need to not get my hopes up and take it more with a grain of salt...
I'm pretty much burning out on it, can't decide if I actual want to date someone at this point, and have become even more picky than i was before joining. It seems like these sites are fun to check out once in a while, not daily.

OkCupid turned not so stupid and now I am no longer single!

Oddly enough he and I had so many people in common we were hardly strangers. I knew his brother years ago, I was best friends with his first girlfriend's sister, he used to manage a band my best friend (who is also on this board) was in, and so on and so forth.
Pretty crazy, small world, lalala.

This weekend I just sidekicked a wedding of two OKCupid members who weren't looking when they met, lived at opposite ends of the country, fell in love, visited a little, he got laid off and moved here two years ago, and boom goes the dynamite.

I would say just take a little break -- sounds like you need one -- and then (if magic hasn't happened, which it often does when you're not looking) contact someone you normally wouldn't.
